The Muddle in the Middle

The Muddle in the Middle

Presented by The Writer's Center at The Writer's Center

The Muddle in the Middle--Students who have taken Kathryn Johnson's Extreme Novelist course, and many others, know that the middle of any novel is the place where most authors struggle and often falter. . . to the point of giving up on their story. Learn how to blast through middle chapters, enriching your story and building toward a dramatic climax. You'll never run out of ideas again, and you'll keep your readers turning pages all the way to the end. This is a particularly good class for anyone whose novel comes up short on word count ( 30,000 words is not a novel, it's a pamphlet) or the writer whose pattern is to put down one story to start another, never working to completion. You'll leave this entertaining Saturday session with all the tools you need to confidently flesh out those tricky middle chapters.
