Writing for Young Readers (6 sessions)

Writing for Young Readers (6 sessions)

Presented by The Writer's Center at The Writer's Center

Kids still read? You bet. Young readers can be a terrific audience for your creative skills. They devour both nonfiction and fiction. We will look at classic and current literature in this genre, but most class time will be spent discussing your writing. We will explore protagonists, plot, conflict, action, humor, dialogue, villains, secondary characters, good beginnings, strong middles, and great endings. Writers, and soon-to-be writers, of all levels are welcome. Come to the first class with a copy of a book written for young readers that you wish you’d written and tell us what makes it a great read.
