In the heat of summer, the artists of Waverly Street Gallery are turning aside from their chosen paths and briefly walking into alternative territories. Media, themes, forms and subject matter are explored in new ways by each of the members.
Waverly Street Gallery presents "Diversions" A Group Show featuring All Waverly Artists
In this spirit, painter Pat Silbert exhibits a series of clay, raku-fired Mother Goddesses. Photographer Sarah Salamon moves from urban views to capture “Life along the Shoreline”. Kanika Sircar, ceramic artist, presents handmade books. Jill Tanenbaum, known for fused glass vessels, shows mosaics and beaded bracelets instead. Jeweler Sandra Zacharia displays textile designs on paper. Metalsmiths, sculptors, ceramists, painters, printmakers and photographers venture into unfamiliar areas and play, under the rays of the July sun, with different dimensions, materials and surfaces. And, along the way, their diversions provide recreation and pleasure for the visitors to this very interesting show.
