 Atlantic Guitar Quartet,founded in 2010, is a contemporary music ensemble dedicated to promoting the music of living composers. In this  concert, they will also include some traditional Quartet music by Brouwer,Satie,Josquin Des Prez, Arvo Part,Fred Frith, and holiday favorites. AGQ has been proactive in expanding the repertoire of the classical guitar quartet by commissioning new works.  With major institutional support by the Presser Foundation and the Peabody Conservatory.Through virtuosic performances, innovative programing and collaborations with other visual and performing artists, AGQ ,Mark Edwards, Kevin Shannon, Zoe Johnstone Stewart,Jonathan Zwi , has broadened the repertoire for – and the definition of – the classical guitar quartet.Their debut album which includes music by D.Smooke, C.Gainey , O. Bensa and R.Pearl, is released in November, 2013 on iTunes,CD Baby and Spotify .
