3.Trio Serenade     March 14th, 2015, Saturday, 8 pm.

A rare opportunity to hear two highly regarded mucicians-violist Kathryn Murddk, oboist mark Hill, perform together  with pianist Li-Ly Chang in masterworks of the Trio /Duo repertoire for viola, oboe & piano .Violist Katheryn Murdock is recognized as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. She has performed throughout the world with such groups as the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Chamber Music Society, and the Mendelssohn String Quartet, of which she was a member for seven years. As a participant in the Marlboro Festival, she has toured with Music From Marlboro and performed on their fortieth anniversary concerts. Mark Hill has earned a wide reputation as an oboe and English horn soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, recording artist and teacher.  In the symphonic world he has been invited to perform with the New York Philharmonic, the National Symphony, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the San Diego Symphony, the Orchestra of the Academy of St.-Martins-in-the-Fields, Orpheus, the Mostly Mozart Orchestra, and the Orchestra of St. Luke's. He was for many years a member of the New York Chamber Symphony and is currently principal oboe of the National Philharmonic.This husband and wife team are both professors at the  University of Maryland.
Pianist Li-Ly Chang has cultivated a versatile career as  soloist, chamber musician&composer . She is the Director of International Young Artist Piano Comp.Recently she has judged for MCYO concertos comp& Washington Intl Piano Competition of Friday Morning Music Club.-"She is an expert partner in the Poulenc Violin Sonata, the ensemble showed expert technique, emotional expressiveness and a firm sense of partnership"--Washington Post.Program:  Bach G minor trio sonata (from BWV 528) Robert Kahn Serenade, op. 73  for oboe, viola and piano, Hanson Pastorale  (Oboe/pno) & Brahms Eb sonata (viol/pno)
