Shostakovich Project: Quartet and Quintet

Shostakovich Project: Quartet and Quintet

at Kentlands Mansion

Expanding on the popular Sfz Salon Series, Arts on the Green introduces a new partnership with musicians from the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. The Sfz Salon Series is a fusion of classical, contemporary, and experimental chamber music with conversation and featured wines. This season the Sfz programs pay tribute to the music of Shostakovich with three multimedia Shostakovich Project concerts. Each concert is paired with films scored by Shostakovich.
The Atlantic String Quartet, made up of musicians Greg Mulligan (violin), Rebecca Nichols (violin), Karin Brown (viola), and Bo Li (cello), joining with pianist Alex Peh, will be performing at the Kentlands Mansion on November 16th at 6:30 pm as tribute to Russian composer, Shostakovich.
Founded in 1995, The Atlantic String Quartet is a prestigious chamber music ensemble of the Baltimore-Washington area. The quartet has been featured in a number of major chamber music series in the region and was featured at the Governor’s Arts Award in Maryland. Members of the quartet have held performances and master classes in Canada, the United States, Central America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
