In Contemporary Appalachia, the Turners embrace their Appalachian heritage, the culture of self-reliance, prudency and the connection to the natural world.  Carving out their homestead together, Page & Zephren work to live simply, yet full of wonder and curiosity.  Zephren’s work revolves around his long standing love affair with science and nature – the integration of ideas from seemingly separate spheres reveal a hidden connection or offer new meaning.  Page Turner collects items of deep personal meaning to painstakingly create delicate objects that honor the feminine, and the desires, experiences and roles of women.  Raised as a devout Mormon, she looks to the Church and its complex history as inspiration.  Her works are informed by the traditional hand-working skills that have been passed down through the generations.
Summer in the City will feature local artist April Rimpo’s bold acrylics and watercolors.  Rimpo  uses color and textures in her paintings to set the mood and sense of energy to best communicate the emotion of a place.  Come see her contemporary urban art and travel to locales across the U.S.
