The Trawick Prize: Bethesda Contemporary Art Awards welcomes artists working in all media to submit their applications. All submissions must be in by April 25, 2022. Artists will compete for $14,000 in prize money. The juried competition will award four winners, and eight finalists will have the opportunity to display their work at Bethesda’s Gallery B in September 2022.

Three judges will review and select artists to participate in the semifinals and finals. This year’s jury consists of Alexis Assam, Regenia A. Perry, Assistant Curator of Global Contemporary Art at The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VFMA); Thomas James, Visual Arts Curator at Creative Alliance in Baltimore, MD; and Maria del Carmen Montoya, Assistant Professor of Sculpture and Spatial Practices, Director of Graduate Studies, M.F.A. in Fine Arts and Social Practice, Studio Arts Program.

Best in Show will be awarded $10,000; second place will receive $2,000, and third place $1,000 in prize money. A young artist whose birthday is after April 25, 1992, will be honored with $1,000.
