More information on the artists:

Barbara Southworth is a print and bookmaking photographer based in Alexandria, Virginia. She seeks to communicate experiences connecting with natural systems and habitats, from the Potomac watershed and Maine Coast fog forests to mountains, marshes, and islands far and wide, focusing on woods and waters. Southworth has produced images for landscape and interior designers. Her work has been exhibited and collected widely at public lands, healthcare settings, and museum installations. She is the group leader of the Creative Platform.

Jim Coates resides in Arlington, VA, and seeks to capture and express a story through a single image or a short sequence of stills, turning to landscape and street scenes for inspiration. His photographs come from solo motorcycle trips through North and South America and the United Kingdom. He’s previously been exhibited at NOVA, in local churches, coffee shops, and many shows.

Kevin Duncan, a Washington, D.C. native now in Adelphi, Maryland, uses photography to invite viewers into surreal environments from his perspective. His current portfolio includes studying the DMV’s energy at night and trees falling in forests. His prints have been selected and displayed at various art shows in the Greater Washington, D.C. area.

Barry Dunn works photographs primarily in black and white, capturing the play of light on shapes, forms, and the tension between realism and abstraction. His career as an architect strongly influences his photography. Dunn currently works in Alexandria, VA, and his photos have been selected for exhibition in several area galleries.

Tana Ebbole resides in Arlington, VA and is photographer who captures the solitude and peace of being outside in nature through flowers and landscapes.  She’s been selected for several juried competitions and is a member of the Art League’s Gallery 75.

Leslie Kiefer is a Washington, D.C.-based photographer focusing on using cameras and scanners to explore the idea of ambiguous grief, embracing the emotion to see the quotidian anew, from nature’s remnants to personal encounters. Kiefer’s work has been exhibited in several East Coast galleries, an area hospital and published in news media. He’s also won several awards.

Leslie Landerkin photographs urban and rural areas in and around the Greater D.C. Area including gardens, parks, marshes, old buildings, streets and alleys, primarily in black and white, allowing the viewer to see more readily image details and textures. Her prints have been juried into several local and national exhibits. Landerkin currently lives in Alexandria, VA.

Jo Levine, a Washington, D.C. resident, seeks to evoke an aura of mystery by photographing the still life that she created, primarily from found objects like plant matter and other natural materials. Levine is a juried member of two artists’ cooperatives; her work has been recognized by awards from distinguished jurors and has been favorably reviewed in The Washington Post and the Washington City Paper.

Ann Benjes Steele is based in Falls Church, VA. She enjoys exploring the wetlands of the Greater D.C. Area and New England, where she studies and photographs the botanical forms. She uses her photos to share the beauty she finds. Benjes Steele enjoys the ability to render detail by means of the ephemeral light of nature with a camera. Her work has been accepted by jurors of regional and local galleries and has won several awards.
