Looking to learn something new in 2024? And what about traveling more? Achieve both goals with a museum-centric journey. From galleries dedicated to women artists to an Egyptian treasure trove showcasing thousands of King Tut’s prized belongings, these are among the most anticipated new museums to check out in 2024.

1. National Museum of Women in the Arts
   Most museums around the world are dominated by the works of male artists, but the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., bucked tradition when it debuted in 1987 and became the first in the world to display art created solely by women. (The museum happens to occupy a former Masonic temple that barred women from becoming members.)The venue recently reopened after a $65 million, two-year renovation with bigger and brighter gallery spaces. It houses 600 works spanning the 1600s to the present, including paintings by greats like Frida Kahlo and Lee Krasner, an Abstract Expressionist whose talent was overshadowed by her husband Jackson Pollock’s success.
2. Nintendo Museum
   A large Super Mario-style question mark has been painted on the roof of the Nintendo Uji Ogura Plant in Kyoto, Japan. The question as to the building’s fate has finally been revealed: The space will house the Nintendo Museum, which the company said would be finished being constructed by March 2024. The museum will be filled with products from the gaming company’s history, which stretches back to 1889 when Nintendo originally sold playing cards.
