“Creating in Abstraction: A Group Exhibition of 11 Global Contemporary Artists,” curated by Morton Fine Art comes to Gallery B this April. The exhibit will feature recent work by participating artists: Osi Audu, Natalie Cheung, Rosemary Feit Covey, Victor Ekpuk, GA Gardner, Jaz Graf, Katherine Hattam, Katherine Tzu-Lan Mann, Eto Otitigbe, Andrei Petrov, Liz Tran and Jenny Wu. A survey of contemporary artists pursuing abstraction across painting, sculpture, collage and mixed media, Creating in Abstraction offers a short-lived glimpse of ongoing global trends in abstract art.

Creating in Abstraction will be on view from April 4 – April 27, 2024 at Gallery B, 7700 Wisconsin Ave E, Bethesda, MD 20814. An opening reception will be held Friday, April 13th from 6-8 pm. Gallery hours are: Thursday – Saturday 12pm-5pm; Sunday 11am-2pm

Founded in 2010 in Washington D.C. by curator Amy Morton, Morton Fine Art (MFA) is a fine art gallery and curatorial group that collaborates with art collectors and visual artists to inspire fresh ways of acquiring contemporary art. Established by Montgomery County in 1994, Bethesda Urban Partnership, Inc. (BUP) is a downtown management organization that markets and maintains downtown Bethesda. The BUP team works in marketing, maintenance, transportation, and administration to produce cultural events and community festivals and attend to landscaping and maintenance needs. BUP also manages the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District, Bethesda Transportation Solutions (BTS), and the Bethesda Circulator, as well as the non-profit art spaces, Gallery B, Studio B, and Triangle Art Studios.
