Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) cultivates new generations of artists and life-long audiences by creating memorable theatrical productions and experiences and by providing young people the highest quality training in musical theater and theater.

    Founded in 1999 as a dance school, in 2010 ADI reimagined how it could use its resources to fill gaps in established support structures in the American contemporary dance field and build new audiences for the art form. Now in its 5th performance season, ADI has become a leading dance presenter in the DC area and offers artist-centered programs with a national focus, including one of the most sought after residency opportunities in the dance field – ADI Incubator. As the organization grows, it continues to adapt, building programs to strengthen the national dance and performance field and supporting the development of artists, new work, and new audiences. Programs ADI Performance Series presents performances of leading contemporary dance artists and companies with the goal of growing audiences for contemporary performance in the DC area. ADI Incubator, a nationally recognized late-stage residency program, provides mid-career and established artists generously resourced production residencies to support the critical final stages of the creation of new work. ADI/NYC will support artists’ work in New York City with multiple-week Incubator residencies and premiere performances. The Solange MacArthur Award for New Choreography awards one choreographer each year commissioning funds, fee-free fiscal sponsorship, a presentation, and marketing and development support for the creation of a new work. ADI Future Artists Initiative addresses the lack of racial diversity in American dance by offering multi-year flexible scholarships to talented young dancers.

    Recalling the charm of a bygone era, the Arts Barn is a beautifully renovated stable that once housed horses on the former Tschiffely estate.     Cultural Arts Center-Montgomery College Many events taking place at the Cultural Arts Center are not sponsored by the college, but are community rentals. Please contact the presenter directly. Located on Montgomery College's Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus, the Cultural Arts Center complex opened in 2009. The complex consists of a 500 seat main multi-use concert hall & theatre, a 116 seat lecture hall & lab theatre space, the Tretter Dance Studio, CAC Gallery, and multiple classrooms for academic classes and workshops. All of these gathering spaces are immediately adjacent to our large main lobby, or atrium. A large marquee faces north at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and East-West Highway informing the community about events occuring in the Cultural Arts Center.

    The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre is a 446-seat facility for the performing arts, home to Rockville Musical Theatre, Rockville Little Theatre, Rockville Civic Ballet, and Victorian Lyric Opera Company. The Montgomery County facility is operated as a rental venue for both public and private events, including presentations, ceremonies, and performances. Located in Rockville Civic Center Park, the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre is in the heart of Rockville, just blocks off Route 28. The theatre is one mile from Rockville Metro station, and free parking lots are available for patrons.

    Glen Echo Park is one of the finest cultural resources in Montgomery County. It is home to 14 resident artists and organizations, a thriving social dance program, a restored 1921 Dentzel Carousel, two award-winning children's theaters, weekend drop-in art programs for children, numerous art studios and galleries, a nature program, and hundreds of classes in visual and performing arts, including ceramics, painting, photography, glass, music, dance, and more. These activities, as well as free summer concerts, festivals, and special events bring thousands of visitors to the Park each year.

    Founded in 1979, Imagination Stage is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to produce theatre and arts education programs which nurture, challenge and empower young people of all abilities. It offers year-round professional theatre for young audiences and classes in creative drama/acting, musical theatre, and dance for ages 1-18, as well as arts-integration professional development training for teachers, students, schools and families.     Lumina Studio Theatre’s mission is to provide unique opportunities for young actors of any level of experience who seek to perform Shakespeare, other plays of the classical repertory theatre, and modern plays that focus on the beauty of language. Lumina provides a disciplined and rigorous professional setting where actors are trained in a comprehensive performance focused program of theatre arts based on Rudolf Steiner’s Creative Speech and Drama techniques. The techniques of Stella Adler and Michael Chehkov are also demonstrated and put into practice. Our program includes in-depth vocal and character coaching, improvisation, and stage combat training, detailed costumes, live music, choreography and occasionally special elements such as masks to support the shows. The results are exhilarating and thoughtful productions that demand more of our aspiring actors, and benefit them for life, whether they pursue acting professionally or become informed and astute patrons of the arts.

    Founded in 1989, Metropolitan Ballet Theatre and Academy is a nonprofit arts education organization offering classes in creative movement, early ballet, classical ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, tap, fitness and adaptive ballet. The organization serves the community in three ways: a premier dance academy open to all community members, professional and accessible productions and performing opportunities, and through civic engagement and arts outreach efforts.     One of the leading professional theaters in the Washington, D.C. area, producing a six-show season of new plays, modern classics and musicals for more than 40,000 patrons each year at our 400-seat theater in Bethesda. Round House has been nominated for more than 150 Helen Hayes Awards and has won over 30, including four “Outstanding Resident Play” Awards and the Charles MacArthur Award for Original New Play in 2016. Round House’s lifelong learning and education programs serve over 4,000 students each year at its Education Center in Silver Spring and in schools throughout Montgomery County. Cornerstone programs include Play It Forward, which provides free tickets for high school students, the year-round Teen Performance Company, which culminates in the student-produced Sarah Metzger Memorial Play, Summer Camp for students in grades K-12, and a full slate of classes for Adults & Youth.

    The best venue in Montgomery County for an intimate connection with your audience is seeking new artists and arts organizations to rent the Black Box Theatre for one night engagements and limited runs! At approximately 140 seats, the Silver Spring Black Box is perfect for when you want to really touch your audiences’ hearts and feed off their energy for your play, set list, improv, open-mic, dance concert, and more. Rehearsal, audition, and classroom spaces are also available. As a County facility, the Silver Spring Black Box is ADA Compliant. Managed by the Theatre Consotium of Silve Spring, the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre is an intimate 140-seat theatre, home to Forum Theatre, Lumina Studio Theatre, ArtStream, and Live Garra theatre.

    Silver Spring Stage is a community theatre with a mission to present the best in contemporary plays. Our seasons include compelling, intellectual, progressive works that offer creative opportunities for actors, directors, and designers. The Stage produces a season of seven full-length productions plus a one-act festival and a winter holiday show. Over the years, the Stage has built a reputation for taking risks while producing shows that regularly receive top honors and awards.

    The Takoma Park Community Center – Sam Abbott Citizens’ Center features three small meeting rooms (Rose, Lilac and Hydrangea), one large meeting room (Azalea), a multimedia lab, dance room, game room, senior room, teen lounge and a LEED-CI Silver Certified auditorium. Sports, arts, fitness, dance, crafts, self-improvement, computers, drama, games, hobbies, martial arts, music, and do-it-yourself instruction are classes are offered at the Community Center through the Recreation Department. The Community Center also hosts clubs, camps, special events, workshops, drop-in programs, after-school programs, and cultural activities at various times throughout the year. Check out the current City Guide and the Cultural Events calendar for details on what is being offered. The Auditorium is LEED-CI Silver Certified and has 154 fixed seats with two aisles and room for six wheelchairs. The floating wood stage is approximately 18 inches off the floor and 30 feet wide and 19 feet deep at the center. This environmentally friendly space has state of the art lighting system with colored LED washes, sound system with two wireless microphones and connections for up to ten wired microphones. The presentation system has a six foot by eleven foot projection screen in the center of the stage and two small screens on either side of stage. Fee for staffing outside of normal hours of operation or specialized AV services and for extraordinary maintenance demands or required security. Insurance is required.

The Mansion is comprised of a spacious conference room, charming gift shop, intimate 100-seat music room, picturesque art galleries, and administrative offices for Strathmore and its resident partners. The Mansion's dynamic space makes it a unique venue that hosts a variety of events including concerts and recitals, summer art camps, afternoon tea, visual art exhibitions, and private events such as weddings, showers, and parties.
