GUDELSKY GAZEBO
Both a revivalist of traditional jazz vocals and an innovator in contemporary jazz styles, Seikaly is lauded as “one of the local jazz scene’s most promising performers” by The Washington Post. Strathmore fans know her from our Artist in Residence program, from where she went on to headline Blues Alley and Bethesda Blues & Jazz, and played jazz festivals across the country. Also a classically trained mezzo soprano, Seikaly entrances audiences with her rich, luxuriant voice. But it’s her swing and phenomenal repertoire that make it obvious why Duke Ellington’s biographer called her “major league young talent in jazz.”
