Calidore String Quartet’s warm yet vibrant sound keeps us on the edge of our seat.
Calidore String Quartet’s warm yet vibrant sound keeps us on the edge of our seat. As one of the finest chamber music ensembles performing today, their “remarkable precision of expression and understated but relentless intensity” (LA Times) has won them prestigious honors like the Avery Fisher Career Grant, Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, and the M-Prize International Chamber Music Competition—the largest prize for chamber music in the world. Calidore comes to the Mansion with a program of Ravel, Schumann, and Three Essays, a piece by Caroline Shaw—the youngest composer to win a Pulitzer prize—written for the quartet.
