Intro to Documentary Production Class

This hands-on class video production and editing class will introduce new filmmakers to screen language, sequencing, and provide hands-on experience with digital video cameras and editing. Equipment provided.

This hands-on class for new filmmakers focuses on how to plan, shoot and edit a short documentary. The class will introduce participants to screen language and sequencing and provide hands-on experience with digital video cameras and the Adobe Premiere editing system.  Equipment will be provided.

Additional time info:

Participants should plan on spending 4-6 additional hours outside of class time between the second and third week of class for shooting. Participants who want additional edit time for their projects will also have the option of staying for two extra hours after the fifth class session and two extra hours after the sixth class session.

PARKING INFO

Our entrance is on Apple Ave. around the corner from Alexander House.

The Cameron Street garage is open 24/7 and requires payment between 7 am - 7 pm on weekdays ($1 per hour for the first four hours and 65 cents per hour for each additional hour). Parking in the garage is free on weekends, federal holidays, and after 7 pm on weekdays. You must remember your space number and pay at one of the pay stations with cash, credit card, or the ParkMobile or MobileNow apps.

You can also sometimes find nearby metered street parking as well. While street spaces are usually free after 6 pm, they do require payment during the daytime Mondays-Saturdays and most are limited to one or two hours. Meters accept coins or the Parkmobile and MobileNow apps.

Do NOT park (or even stand) in any spots marked for police only.
