Take a guided tour of the grounds and buildings of Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park.

Take a guided tour of the grounds and buildings of Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park and discover the role enslaved labor played on this 19th century farm. Explore how the enslaved could have nature for escape and evasion while seeking freedom. This guided tour includes exterior space and a natural trail. Participants are recommended to dress to be in the elements.

Intended for ages 8 & up

AHCMC invites artists and creative practitioners of ALL DISCIPLINES to submit their qualifications for a year-long Artist Residency supporting civic dialogue and inspiring change!! Submission deadline: May 22. (Link in Bio)

** MUST live in Montgomery County, Maryland to be eligible! **

🌟 3 Artists-in-Residence will be selected: Mid-County, Up-County and East-County.

🎯 The goal of each year-long project is to support civic dialogue within the artist’s Regional Service Area.

💬 Artists-in-Residence will identify shared concerns, priorities, and focal issues within their community through a series of artistic engagements and community convening.

💫 The work can involve art-making, performances, public art activations, research-based exhibitions, or other endeavors aligned with the artists’ own practices.

We visited Alliance Comics in Downtown #SilverSpring to highlight their expansive collection of comics and graphic novels. They offer comic reservations, have a comic buyback program and even open an hour early on Wednesday for new releases. It was a pleasure visiting #AllianceComics and picking up a few $1 comics to jumpstart my collection.
