After Hours: What was the World War 1 Experience for African American Soldiers?

Explore the experience of African American soldiers during World War 1. A pre-talk tasting features teas from Shafa Blends.

Many African American men saw World War 1 as an opportunity to gain respect through military service. They volunteered and were drafted, but even in war segregation determined where and how they served. Military historian Lt. Col. Roger Cunningham (USA-ret) will explore the experience of African American soldiers in World War 1.
