Tchaikovsky’s Manfred Symphony, one of the greatest programmatic symphonies of the 19th century, is featured on the program.

Don Juan, the work that launched the career of Richard Strauss, leads a powerful program. Giving voice to Maryland native and American abolitionist Frederick Douglass, Wordsmith joins the BSO and guest conductor Robert Trevino in a world premiere by James Lee III commissioned by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Rochester Philharmonic. Parking in the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro garage is $5.20 during the week and free on weekends. Strathmore is also accessible via Metro's Red Line, Grosvenor-Strathmore station.

Limited short-term parking also is available at specially marked meters along Tuckerman Lane, which do not require payment after 7pm.
