There is a long history of Black musicals on Broadway and beyond, beginning in 1921 with Shuffle Along by Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle. That show helped launch the careers of Josephine Baker, Paul Robeson and more. Nova, Kanysha and Ayana Blake, Tobias Young and Christopher Michael Richardson, will sing songs from across the years that testify to the proud musical legacy of Black artists.
