CityDance Presents: Asanga Domask's Vishwa Lanka Rangana

Asanga Domask, CityDance Ignite Artist, and Founder and Artistic Director of SerendibDance, brings a daring collection of Sri Lankan traditional and folk dance to the CityDance Studio Theater at Strathmore.

Vishwa Lanka Rangana, will premiere original choreography of several group and solo works that are dedicated to the preservation of Sri Lanka’s traditional Kandyan, low country, and folk dance. Elaborate costumes, traditional music, and powerful yet elegant movements will take viewers of all ages on a historic journey.  This concert features group and solo works aimed at preserving this ancient art form that is so central to Sri Lankan culture and identity.

More than 20 dancers from CityDance’s Sri Lankan Traditional and Folk dance program and from the CityDance Conservatory, will perform the elegant and dynamic movements that typify these dances.
