Interactive Workshop and Performance Featuring Christopher Payne and Dave Cipriani

We will discuss and engage in the rhythmic and melodic fundamentals of Indian music. We will demonstrate how to use these fundamentals by vocalizing rhythmic (Konnakol) and melodic (Sargam) content and how to apply it to instruments. We will then show how these concepts can be applied to Western notation, and incorporated into other genres/styles of music, and how they can influence your daily practice, and stimulate your creativity. A brief performance will follow the workshop.
