Kiln Formed Murrini Workshop

Create an intricately patterned dish with murrini.

GET TIX

Create beautiful flower-like patterned cane (lengths of glass made by stretching molten glass into a long rod) in the kiln. Learn various ways to assemble components to create and prepare the glass for firing, then learn how to cut the cane, and create a dish using the fired murrini. Supplies included. Info: glasshabitat@glasshabitat.com. Minimum age 14. Instructor, Janet Wittenberg.

During our visit we attended an Open Studio session, visited the Betty Boyd Dettre Library and Research Center and saw “The Sky’s the Limit”.

We visited Alliance Comics in Downtown #SilverSpring to highlight their expansive collection of comics and graphic novels. They offer comic reservations, have a comic buyback program and even open an hour early on Wednesday for new releases. It was a pleasure visiting #AllianceComics and picking up a few $1 comics to jumpstart my collection.
