Join Montgomery Parks in recognizing Martin Luther King Jr. Day through a volunteer park cleanup. Help beautify your community green spaces, keep litter out of our streams, and protect wildlife.
Clean-ups will take place in multiple locations throughout the county from Saturday, January 15 through Saturday, January 22.
Volunteers must wear close-toed shoes/boots, long pants, clothes that can get dirty, and bring a reusable water bottle. Montgomery Parks will provide bags, gloves, and trash grabbers. Additional details will be sent closer to the cleanup events.

All volunteers must register in advance and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Volunteers are not required to wear a mask unless they cannot be six feet apart from others.

Matthew Henson State Park: 12 to 2 pm
Sunday, January 16
Fairland Recreational Park: 1 to 3 pm
Monday, January 17
Matthew Henson Trail: 10 am to 12 pm (Cleanup with Rock Creek Conservancy)
Takoma-Piney Branch Park: 10 am to 12 pm
Black Hill Regional Park: 1 to 3 pm
Saturday, January 22
Sligo Mill Nature Conservation Area: 12 to 2 pm
