Drummer Nate Smith regularly gigs with legendary jazz bassist Dave Holland's prestigious quintet, octet and big band, saxophonist Chris Potter, and others; his own compositions have been heard on PBS and the Discovery Channel; and he has become a sought-after record producer among soul and R&B artists. Now he presents his “chilled-out, R&B-informed take on jazz” with his ensemble Kinfolk: Kris Bowers, piano; Fima Ephron, bass; Jeremy Most, guitar; Jaleel Shaw, saxophones; and Amma Whatt, vocals.
