The Victorian Lyric Opera Company presents this Gilbert & Sullivan classic full of witty satire, fully staged and with full orchestra!
Reginald Bunthorne pretends to be a poet to attract women, much to the chagrin of the local Dragoon Guards, to whom many maidens were formerly engaged. Unfortunately, the one woman he wants, Patience, only has eyes for Archibald Grosvenor – another sham poet. The ensuing poetic rivalry throws everyone’s affections into a tizzy! This G&S favorite pokes delicious fun at the Victorian era’s Aesthetic Movement and features some of Sullivan’s best patter songs.
