This exhibition showcases the work of three generations of visual artists – Saroja Manickam, Shanthi Chandrasekar, and Aishwariya Chandrasekar – and their artistic and philosophical interpretations of Kolam, a traditional Indian art form.
Thalaimuraigal, or “generations” in Tamil, showcases the work of three generations and their artistic and philosophical interpretations of Kolam, a traditional Indian art form. Formed by dots and lines, Kolams embody the duality of simplicity and complexity in both the art form and the daily practice by countless women around the world.
