Thalaimuraigal: Three Generations of Kolam - Art Exhibition

Thalaimuraigal, or “generations” in Tamil, showcases the work of three generations and their artistic and philosophical interpretations of Kolam, a traditional Indian art form. Formed by dots and lines, Kolams embody the duality of simplicity and complexity in both the art form and the daily practice by countless women around the world. By creating a space that intersects between time, space, discipline, culture, and personal experiences, the artists reflect on the learned actions that have subtly shaped their lives and the creativity and innovation that emerges from a tradition.
