The Apollo Orchestra Presents David Chan and Hera Hyesang Park

The Apollo Orchestra will present a concert featuring operatic selections by Mozart and Rossini along with Schubert’s Symphony no. 8 in b minor (“Unfinished”) with guest conductor David Chan, featuring Metropolitan Opera soprano Hera Hyesang Park. Geoff Brown of The Times (London) says of Ms. Park “…her singing as Rossini’s determinedly provocative heroine Rosina is indeed phenomenal, especially as she started out to some eyes — well, my eyes — only acting like an alluring spitfire rather than actually being one.”

Conductor David Chan, one of the most accomplished violinists of his generation, is also quickly making a name for himself as an elegant conductor of unusual interpretive depth.  Currently in his 23rd season as concertmaster of New York’s MET Orchestra, he has also recently served as Music Director of the APEX Ensemble, with which he earned high praise for innovative and adventurous programming, and as Music Director of Camerata Notturna, one of New York City’s foremost chamber orchestras. This concert will be magical from beginning to end!
