The Zoo & Sweethearts

Act I is Sweethearts, a comic play billed as a “dramatic contrast” in two short acts that tells a sentimental and ironic story of the differing recollections of a man and a woman about their last meeting together before being separated and reunited after 30 years.

Act II, The Zoo, is a farcical story that concerns two pairs of lovers. First, a nobleman who goes to the zoo to woo the girl who sells snacks there. He tries to impress her by buying & eating all of the food. The other couple includes a young chemist who believes that he has poisoned his beloved by mixing up her father’s prescription with peppermint that he had meant for her.
Recommended for ages 12 & up.
