2022 Grow It Eat It Spring Open House

Bring your family and friends to the Agricultural History Farm Park on Saturday, May 14, between 10am and 4pm (rain date May 15), for a fun, educational, outdoor event. Hosted by the Montgomery County Master Gardeners, the Grow It Eat It Spring Open House will share how to produce affordable and healthy food in your home, community, and school gardens. Entry to the event is free, although donations are appreciated, and there are activities for both adults and kids who want to learn more about vegetable and flower gardening.
View different gardening techniques on display at the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden, discuss your gardening plans with Master Gardeners, pick up a free composting bin, visit plant sales sponsored by home and garden vendors, and check out the children’s art table, Master Gardener Plant clinic, one-on-one gardening Q&A sessions, a beekeeper exhibit, and more!
Attend a free gardening class on chili peppers, organic fertilizers, and extending vegetable garden harvests. Or register ahead of time and pay a small fee to attend a workshop on permaculture, soil testing, monarch butterfly gardens, vegetable garden design, or edible mushrooms. A fee and preregistration are also required for children’s programs and for badge programs offered for Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts.
