Poetry Benches

Series of 18 decorated wood benches placed at bus stops along the Bethesda “free circulator” bus line. The wood is shaped in “bas relief”, style and painted. Lyrics to poems are also painted, together with illustrative imagery. Poem citation and signature on back. Benches appear to be protected with a varnish, possibly polyurethane. Varnish appears to be turning slightly yellow. All are in fair condition. Many have general grime from being outdoors in the city. Considering their extreme harsh environments and constant use, these benches are in excellent condition.
