Untitled

The school’s website lists the relief mural as “depicting animals native to the Olney area when Olney was first settled.” The animals are dressed in late 19th century country clothing and are working, gossiping and bartering with each other. All the animals stand on a cobbled street in front of a house. A rolling countryside can be seen to the left of the house, implying that the characters are on the edge of town. The style and color of the animals is reminiscent of early Beatrix Potter and some of the animals even resemble her characters
