Work with your peers to produce a high-quality Broadway musical in a welcoming, supporting environment.
Welcoming students with interests in any area of theatre - The Summer Musical provides all students with an opportunity to create theatre together through rehearsal, creativity, and collaboration. Designed to be an immersive, hands-on theatre arts education program, led by a team of area arts professionals, this group of students will meet regularly to create and rehearse the summer musical as part of The Highwood Theatre's Mainstage Season of student-produced productions.

$400 Participation Fee
Please note: Students in this production should expect three rehearsals per week (determined by Dates Survey)

How We Schedule Rehearsals
- We set "potential rehearsal dates" for the Production Company (see below). All rehearsals will be scheduled on those dates.
- After you register, you get our "Dates Survey." This survey lists all the potential rehearsal dates during the time period of rehearsals.
- Families fill out the Dates Survey, marking days they can and cannot make.
- We take that information and come up with a rehearsal schedule that honors all family's conflicts.
Potential Rehearsal Days for Summer Musical:
Mondays from 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Wednesdays from 6:00 - 8:30 PM
Thursdays from 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Saturdays from 1:00 - 4:30 PM
Tech Week and Performances
Students can have no conflicts on these dates

LOCATION
PARKING INFO
There is a large public parking garage located two doors down from our Silver Spring office and rehearsal space. Rates in the garage are $0.70/hour. Street parking is also available for $1.00/hour. We do not supply coins for metered parking near our rehearsal space. Please bring plenty of quarters or visit https://mobile-now.us/ to set up a mobile parking account to use in Silver Spring, MD. Parking is free after 7:00 PM and on weekends.
