REPORTS TO: Access & Inclusion Senior Manager

LOCATION: Bethesda, MD


FLSA Status: NonExempt

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends and evenings


The Access & Inclusion Coordinator will support the day to day management of Imagination Stage’s educational programming with a focus on our onsite population of students with various accessibility needs. A blend of arts administration, classroom management, and disability support, this position calls for a candidate that is a self-starter with experience/interest in all of the above areas. The position reports to the Access & Inclusion Senior Manager but works closely with the Access Apprentice as well as the entire education team to ensure the best possible experience for all students.


  • Manages registration process for students with disabilities; identifies students who benefit from additional support
  • Assigns Inclusion Facilitators (adults supporting a variety of student needs in the classroom) and IF substitutes as needed for classes
  • Interviews and helps train new Inclusion Facilitators
  • Maintains ongoing communication with families and classroom staff
  • Conducts and coordinates intake calls for students enrolling in our semester and summer courses
  • Ensures supports/materials are in place prior and during classes/camps; oversight of access materials created by the Access Apprentice (such as creating social stories or choice boards)
  • Along with Education Team, observes and provides feedback for Teaching Artists, Assistants, and Inclusion Facilitators
  • Provides support for sensory friendly field trip and public performances, serving as a member of the prep and rehearsal team
  • Teaches at least one Access-specific course each semester
  • Manages the Pegasus Ensemble alongside Access and Inclusion Senior Manager
  • Coordinates summer camp support and medical intakes; serves as a hands-on support staff member
  • If certified in ASL interpretation and/or fluent in ASL and/or Spanish: can provide additional support in classes with students who are bilingual


  • Fluent/Certified in ASL and/or Spanish
  • At least 2+ years of experience working with students with disabilities
  • Degree in Special Education, Education, and/or Theatre Education, or related field
  • Willingness to learn new technology, experience with Tessitura is a plus
  • Passion for the performing arts (knowledge of theatre, dance, musical theatre, improvisation, or filmmaking a plus)
  • Discretion in handling confidential student information
  • Adaptability and a team-focused work mentality


  • Salary: $42,000-$52,000
