Why this role matters:

This position is responsible for programming and event coordination of Arts and Adult programs. The Arts and Adults Program Coordinator’s duties will include administrative oversight and coordination of adult classes and clubs, volunteer management, and logistical and administrative support for Arts and Adults programs and gallery exhibitions. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with our community and have a significant impact on the experience of program participants.

This is a part-time position, scheduled for 15-20 hours a week.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with Arts and Adults classes and ongoing programs.
  • Managing volunteers, coordinating food, and providing program support for Arts and Adults department events.
  • Communicating with instructors as needed.
  • Generating reports for Arts and Adults departments.
  • Managing invoices and billing for Arts and Adults departments.
  • Ordering supplies as needed for Arts and Adults events.
  • Organizing holiday events.
  • Coordinating gallery exhibits, set up, logistics, and reception.
  • Providing support for Lessans Family Literary Series, including: coordinating travel and accommodations for authors/speakers, ordering books from publishers, assisting with planning and execution of author talks.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned.

You should have:

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to develop, nurture, and build internal and external relationships.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Ability to take initiative with projects and multi-task.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Recommended COVID-19 vaccination.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a part-time, non-exempt position, with an hourly rate between $20-22, commensurate with experience. The Bender JCC provides a benefits package that includes 403b, FSA, paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), and a flexible working environment. You’ll also receive a membership to the Bender JCC, including complete access to the entire fitness facility and pools, plus staff discounts on programs and services.
