Associate Editor
American Theatre magazine seeks a full-time Associate Editor to write, edit, and produce content for our website and, eventually, a revived print magazine. The Associate Editor is responsible for planning and editing profiles, features, news reports, and opinion pieces for web and eventually print; for recruitment and mentorship of a diverse pool of freelance writers throughout the U.S.; and for some
involvement in podcasting and public events.

What You Need for this Role
The Associate Editor should have a commitment to American Theatre and TCG’s mission, core values, and its ED&I work within the workplace and in the field. They should possess a positive, entrepreneurial attitude and be able to successfully lead and work with a diverse staff and constituents. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and exemplary work practices are essential, as are strong attention to detail and dependability. The successful candidate will have a commitment to learning and growth for oneself and others.
The Associate Editor will work directly with AT’s Editor-in-Chief, and various departments at TCG (ED&I,
Art, Programming, Marketing, and Events), as well as freelance contractors to produce compelling,
indispensable journalism for the field. In addition, the job requirements include:
