ArtStream is a nonprofit that provides performing arts opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area.

The Executive Administrator is a key position that reports directly to the Executive Artistic Director.

This is a hybrid position requiring some in-person meetings, workshops and attendance at ArtStream activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Apply the Organization’s vision, policies, and guiding principles to every facet of his/her/their responsibilities in an effort to continually improve our operations.
  • Onboard new staff and teaching artists
    • Coordinate CPR trainings for Teaching Artists (TA)
    • Coordinate Teaching Artists (TA) background checks
    • Send out Teaching Artists (TA) contracts
  • Manage registration software
    • Input and track class registrations
    • Track class payments and refunds
    • Create, maintain, and update contact sheets for Teaching Artists
  • List job postings and assist with recruiting Teaching Artists (TA) and volunteers
  • Coordinate Family and Teaching Artist Town Halls
  • Send out partner contracts and collect information for partner invoices
  • Locate and schedule spaces for classes and rehearsals
  • Coordinate Scholarships
  • Be familiar and update data in all digital platforms, including Constant Contact
  • Check and respond to emails and answer phones
  • Generate mailing lists
  • Assist with donor Thank You’s

Education and/or Experience:

Must have completed an Associate’s Degree or higher. Must have previously demonstrated the ability to multi-task and work independently and remotely.

Will be required to become proficient in the use of various donor customer-relationship management (“CRM”) software systems and be experienced with digital tools.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Ability to deal effectively with people within and outside of ArtStream
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure
  • Knowledge of theater and nonprofits – a plus
  • Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to set goals, priorities, and work with little supervision

Compensation:

Position compensation range is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour (plus health benefits, Paid Time Off [PTO] and Sick Leave).
