Call for Artists - DEADLINE :
First Annual Lab Gallery Curatorial Development Project at Brentwood Arts Exchange

The 1st Annual Lab Gallery Curatorial Development Project
Brentwood Arts Exchange is proud to announce this ambitious new project, welcoming independent curator Irene Clouthier to lead a group of selected curators to create several exhibitions in our Lab Gallery over the 2022-2023 season. Irene Clouthier has over 15 years of curatorial experience and has been a successful working artist for over 30 years. Her insight and attention to cultural diversity will provide young curators an opportunity to transform conceptual ideas into tangible exhibitions. This project will also help young curators to navigate the process of communicating with established artists, scheduling, and the responsibilities and working closely with a professional art center.

This call is open to all curators who are 18 years of age or older. There are no other restrictions.

Brentwood Arts Exchange is The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission’s component of the public-private partnership with Gateway Arts Center, serving as an anchor for Prince George’s County Gateway Arts District. We focus on connecting audiences to diverse forms and ideas within contemporary art. In addition to visual arts exhibitions, we also present small concerts, film screenings, and classes, and operate a retail store that sells functional art by local artists.
