The Laurel Museum was closed for the last 15 months, after just six weeks of displaying the new 2020 exhibit. But staff were busy collecting and documenting the community’s response to the pandemic and protests for social justice. These urgently-collected items are the focus of the newly updated 2020 exhibit, which commemorates the 150th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Laurel. Visitors can expect to find new sections such as COVID-19 in Laurel, Social Justice in Laurel, and The 150th Anniversary that (Mostly) Wasn’t, in addition to the 2020 displays including Building Faith in Laurel, That’s Entertainment, Business, and Transportation.
