Mosaic Tapestry Workshop

Create your own Sparkling Mosaic Jeweled Tapestry! Recycle your unused costume jewelry—necklaces you don’t wear (and wonder why you ever bought?!), single earrings without a mate, miscellaneous beads, baubles, and buttons… Anything goes! In this workshop you will create your own beautiful jeweled mosaic tapestry in the style of famed mosaicist Laurel Skye. The instructor will provide a wooden substrate, adhesive material (thinset), colorant, and a selection of “jewels” and beads to supplement your own treasures. You will be instructed to create a unified design and techniques for applying beads and other jewelry. No grouting is required for this project so you will be able to take home a finished project after the workshop. The workshop will be held from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, April 29. An optional evening session, on Wednesday, May 3 (6 pm – 9 pm) is provided if you are unable to finish on Saturday.
