Romancing the Stone

The Glen Echo Park Partnership is pleased to present SilverWorks: Romancing the Stone.

The Glen Echo Park Partnership is pleased to present SilverWorks: Romancing the Stone. This exhibition features silversmith works (jewelry, vessels, and silverware) created by resident artist Blair Anderson. Blair highlights more unusual stones in this collection as well as how they are cut, their origins and their properties. Gem specimens will be displayed alongside their finished counterparts. This exhibition also features lapidary artist Robert Cline, and students of SilverWorks.

During our visit we attended an Open Studio session, visited the Betty Boyd Dettre Library and Research Center and saw “The Sky’s the Limit”.

We visited Alliance Comics in Downtown #SilverSpring to highlight their expansive collection of comics and graphic novels. They offer comic reservations, have a comic buyback program and even open an hour early on Wednesday for new releases. It was a pleasure visiting #AllianceComics and picking up a few $1 comics to jumpstart my collection.
