5 years of SilverWorks: Celebration of Techniques

Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture is pleased to present an exhibition celebrating SilverWorks Studio & Gallery. The exhibition features artwork by the director and resident artist Blair Anderson, as well as artwork by studio assistant and teacher, Mawadda Alaswadi. Both women present a rich educational environment to the students of SilverWorks by providing numerous classes in a variety of jewelry making techniques. 5 Years Of SilverWorks: A Celebration of Techniques is a showcase of these techniques that celebrates the fifth anniversary of this student friendly studio. Chasing & Repoussé, Etching, Forming, and the ancient art of Keum Boo are just a few of the techniques used in this collection of one-of-a-kind works by these two artists. The work of honorary students of SilverWorks will also be on display. The exhibition is featured at Glen Echo Park's Popcorn Gallery Thursday through Sunday 12:00 – 6:00pm, with an opening reception on Saturday, September 20, 7:00 – 10:00pm. Concurrent with this exhibit is the opening of SilverWorks Studio 2, a second educational and gallery space also located at Glen Echo Park.
