Japanese Doll Making for Families

Japanese master Gago artists Akiko Keene for a two-hour workshop in which parents and their children will make tJoin Jwo traditional Japanese paper doll. Akiko Keene is the only certified Gago Master in the area and considered somewhat of a national treasure in Japan for her artistry. Maximum of 25 students, age 16 and above. Tuition: $30.

During our visit we attended an Open Studio session, visited the Betty Boyd Dettre Library and Research Center and saw “The Sky’s the Limit”.

We visited Alliance Comics in Downtown #SilverSpring to highlight their expansive collection of comics and graphic novels. They offer comic reservations, have a comic buyback program and even open an hour early on Wednesday for new releases. It was a pleasure visiting #AllianceComics and picking up a few $1 comics to jumpstart my collection.
