Pursuit of Color: Gonzalo Ruiz Navarro

This exhibition presents recent oils and pastels from artist Gonzalo Ruiz Navarro about the elusive nature of color. Gonzalo finds his inspiration in how light reveals reality and how it affects the color we see in objects and landscapes. He is a realist painter but when asked about his favorite subject, he replies “color.” There are many theories about how color works in nature and how you can interpret that in a painting, but ultimately, Gonzalo finds that is something we will always try to interpret and will never be fully captured.
